Well, back into the full swing of training, well at the least running section, with the other 2 legs slowly building.
Not the worst place to train in Holland, well were we live anyway. plently of running tracks and cycle ways however the rain and cold dont make getting out of the house any more fun. Never the less managed to back up with another 50km+ week of running for the third week straight and finally stating to feel the running fitness buliding. Reasonably happy holding a 31 min 7.5km threshold run, not too bad considering its really only week 3 of the build up to the Nice Half marathon in early Feb, the Marathon of Malta in Late Feb before the europan tri season.
Not too much on the riding and swimming front though i will say riding over here is going to be very beneficial. Last week went for an 80km loop to Gouda (yes the cheese place) and on the way back found a new appreciation for riding in head winds. A solid 6 months of that with a few trips to the Alps in Belgium and it will make anyone a strong rider. Tim if you come over mate we will have some good times in the saddle!!!
Anyway looking forward to the new program from the guys at tri nova and getting back into full swing. I do think however that a trip to spain or portugal could be in store over winter in an attempt to evade the cold european winter.
keep you posted.
