Well game 9 saw us away taking on the 2nd last placed Haarlem, not far from Amsterdam. The day didn’t start that great with me and Pete getting the times mixed up meaning we were late for the team meet at cartouche. Never the less we headed of to Haarlem in our Citroen C1 with Chrissy "can drag flick" de Wit taking up the whole back seat......Chrissy you are a unit. . ha-ha.
Anyway to the game, we started of well finding ourselves up by 2, until the train took the wrong line and we missed a few easy chances and allowed a lucky goal brining it back to 2-1. Worst of all giving them a glimmer of a hope of winning this game. As Baz would say all teams will now just want to beat us...if they do they have had a good season. This makes for some tough and frantic opponents.
We managed to hold out and keep it 2-1 at the break, then made it 3-1 with some good hockey within the first 5 mins after half time. I would now like to go on explaining how we ran away with it; but i think it is better to leave it there, lets just say the next 30 mins resulted with the score at 6-3 and another 2 yellow cards to our team.
By all accounts not the prettiest win but luckily we left Haarlem with 3 points and remain 3 points clear on top of the table.
Next week home to Alliance - lets hope the trend continues so that the beer at the Cartouche aussie themed "te Dansant" (i think that is the speeling) goes crazy......
